Rutherford Regional Medical Center staff Dustin Hammett (left) and Joey Allison are shown unloading a large trailer of gifts for distribution at the Salvation Army Christmas Cheer Center in Forest City. Shown assisting is Norma Murphy, Salvation Army staff member. The health system bought angel name gifts for at least 25 Rutherford County children. The Center is located in the former Family Video store at the corner of Church Street and Main Street in Forest City.

There is a need for toys for older children's toys up to age 11 and also a need for volunteers to ring the bells at businesses across the county. Call Sgt. Mary Ashby at 704-692-8515 for more information and times and places to ring bells. Volunteers or those wishing to make a little extra money are asked to apply for the seasonal jobs.
