Aden L. (A.L.) Moore Jr., age 89

Aden L. (A.L.) Moore Jr., age 89, resident of Creedmoor, NC passed away on July 9, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.

A.L. was a long-time resident of Rutherfordton, NC where he was married to Annie Walker Moore. He is preceded in death by parents Aden L. Moore, Sr. and Maggie Moore of Ellenboro, NC, brother Albert Moore of Forest City, NC, and sister Janette Kanipe of Ellenboro, NC. He is survived by wife Annie and daughters Deborah M. Gaul (husband John W. Gaul) and Martha C. (Carol) Moore, all residents of Creedmoor, NC, grandchildren Allison W. Gaul of Arlington, VA, Amelia G. Vesselovsky of Gatineau, Qc, Canada, and Matthew A. Gaul of Arlington, VA, and great-grandchildren Luka T. Vesselovsky and Lilou Vesselovsky of Gatineau, QC, Canada, and one special friend Hugh White of Forest City. A.L. was employed for forty years as the Supervisor of Weaving at MasterCraft Corporation's Mill in Spindale, NC. He served honorably in the 10th Armored Division during World War II, receiving both a bronze star and a purple heart for his service. A.L. was an avid golfer, an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting with friends and fishing with his grandchildren, and was a lifelong Duke sports fan.

Services were held at Oak Springs Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon Community. Concluding services were held in the church cemetery with military honors provided by The Rutherford County Honor Guard.
