Alfred Morrison, age 87

Alfred Morrison, age 87, of Ellenboro, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023.

Alfred was born, August 16, 1935 in Rutherford County to the late Flay Morrison and Celia Toney Morrison. He was a graduate of Ellenboro High School and served honorably in the US Army. He worked for 32 years at Burlington Industries before retirement. Alfred was a member of Victory Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughters, Sherry Morrison, Marsha Street and a sister, Hazel Bright.

Those left to cherish fond memories include his wife of 49 years, Virginia Wilson Morrison; son, Shannon Morrison (Dawn) of Ellenboro; brothers, Hicks Morrison of Mooresboro and Carl Morrison (Susan) of Rutherfordton; sisters Brenda Goforth of Duncan's Creek and Mary Ann Jones of Ellenboro, aunt, Jeanette Norville of Union Mills, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held February 24 at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny McCarty officiating. Interment with miliary honors was provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
