Alice Herring, age 72

Alice Herring, age 72, of Forest City, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020.

Alice was born March 17, 1948 in Rutherford County to the late William Paul Herring and Dorothy Biddy Herring.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two stepfathers, Sylvester Holt and William "Bill' Harvey; brothers, Rev. Amos Herring, William Lee Herring, Frankie Herring and a sister, Pat Gilbert.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Anthony Herring and Robert Carson (Amy) all of Forest City; her lifetime partner of thirty-four years, John Carson; two sisters, Pauline Givens and Lillian Holt both of Forest City. She is also survived by four grandchildren.

The funeral service was conducted at the Church of the Exceptional. Interment followed in Cool Springs Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to Harrelson Funeral Home, 1251 US Highway 221a, Forest City, NC 28043 to help defray funeral costs.
