Saturday nights now have a special treat for all lovers of country and bluegrass music. The Foothills Music Hall is open to the public with amazing talent. The StarShooters and the legendary Dan X. Padgett perform from 7 to 11pm for listening and dancing at 127 Trade Street in Rutherfordton.

The StarShooters have performed just about everywhere country music is heard and enjoyed. Just like the multi-talents of Dan X. Padgett who has played and taught for seven decades.

Both have done so much traveling that they would like to stay closer to home. Because of that, you get the benefit of great music and talent. Dan X. Padgett was so well thought of by Earl Scruggs, that Earl had him substitute for him when he wanted to take off for a couple weeks. Dan was just 21 years old when he was on the road with Lester Flatt. If you’re a country music fan and love the likes of the famous Wilma Lee and Stony Cooper (remember their hit recording of “Big Midnight Special”) as well as many others, the Foothills Music Hall is just right for you. Dan’s career has taken him from small towns to the Grand Ole Opry. He played on the radio at the same time Don Gibson and the Sons of Soil were performing. He played with Bill Monroe, Charlie Moore and the McCormick Brothers. He still remembers meeting and getting to know Snuffy Jenkins. Today, he finds time to teach students on 10 different instruments.

The StarShooters, led by Danny Hardin with Dave McDowell, Adam Greene, and Noah Hardin together with Dan X. Padgett offer a big treat to everyone and anyone who loves country and bluegrass music. No alcohol but some great toe tapping music and dancing. The price of admission is only $6.00. What a bargain!

Danny stated they want this location to become a Rutherford County attraction.
