However, the contest of the week was no doubt R-S Central versus McDowell on the gridiron.

Following a missed McDowell extra point with under four minutes to go that clanged off the left upright R-S Central ran out the clock to survive a 21-20 win at home.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Rutherford-Cleveland is offering this series of 12-week classes beginning Thurs. Sept. 8, 6:30-9pm at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, in Shelby. The class is designed to help people who are dealing with the issues of living with a loved one who has been diagnosed with one or more of these no fault biological brain disorders. I was driving to spend some time with a coaching client. It was a nice day and all was going well as I drove along the recently paved four-lane highway. I had some of my favorite tunes playing, the sunroof open blowing through what’s left of my hair, the sun massaging my neck with Vitamin D—it was a good day.
