The Rutherford County Arts Council will present "The Golden Goose," a musical play by Diane McEnnerney, on Friday, November 10 at 7pm and Saturday, November 11 at 3pm in the R-S Central High School Auditorium. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors, and are available now at tix.com, or at the door. Children 5 and under will be admitted free.
This comedic musical play, which will feature a cast of over 70 local actors, is based on the classic tale "The Princess Who Couldn't Laugh" by the brothers Grimm. Sad Princess Gwendolyn never laughs, never smiles, and refuses to marry. The King and Queen, in a desperate attempt, try to force her hand by staging a competition - whichever suitor can make the princess laugh will win her hand! Many will try, but who will be successful? And what about the golden goose? How does that fit into the story? You will have to come and see the play to find out!
The play is directed by Laura Link, with music direction by Gale Wilson and choreography by Layla Gaddy.
