Barbara Ann McGinnis Brackett, age 72, of Forest City

Barbara Ann McGinnis Brackett, age 72, of Forest City, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2026.

Barbara was born January 6, 1954 in Rutherford County to the late Jessie James McGinnis and Emma Jane Bradley McGinnis. She worked as a caregiver in home healthcare and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, H.P. Brackett; brothers, Jimmy, Bobby, Leroy, Ronnie, Steve and Mike McGinnis and a nephew, Tommy McGinnis.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Phil Brackett (Sharon Martin) of Forest City; her life companion of 25 years, Millard Lipsey of Union, SC; brother, Ervin McGinnis of Goodes Creek; nephews, Richard, Terry, Chuck, Todd, Brock, Jason and Dale McGinnis; nieces, Shane Dotson, Shannon Alley, Christina McGinnis, Angie Dobbins, Regina Doty, Wendy Owens.

A graveside service was held May 30 at Alexander Cemetery with Rev. Sam Henderson officiating.
