Barbara C. Lavender, age 84

Barbara C. Lavender, age 84, of Ellenboro, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023.

Barbara was born June 24, 1934 in Catawba County, to the late John William Carswell and Ethel Bright Carswell. She was a graduate of Hildebran High School. Barbara worked as a seamstress for various rug and clothing manufacturing companies for most her life. She was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Clarence "Brint" Lavender; brother, Harold Carswell and sister, Judy Bailey.

Those left to treasure her memory include her son, Dale Lavender and wife, Donna of Shelby; brother, Ed Carswell and wife, Amy of Shelby; sister, Janice Turner of Cliffside and four grandchildren.

A private family gathering will take place to honor Barbara's life.
