Barbara Ruth White Matheny, 89

Barbara Ruth White Matheny, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, August 14, 2026.

Barbara was born December 16, 1936, to the late Ishmael Joseph White and Ruby May McDaniel White.

Barbara leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory, including son, Mark Edward Matheny; daughter, Sharon Matheny Brackett and husband Stan; grandchildren, James C. Brackett and Sarah Brackett Hughes, and husband Kyle; great-grandchildren, Kimber Lou Hughes, and Karter James Hughes; sister, Midgie White Ensley; nephew, Mitchell Ensley and wife Mitzi; niece, Melissa Cantrell and husband Mike; along with several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Sheila White; paternal grandparents, Sid and Mattie White; and maternal grandparents, Dewey and Minnie McDaniel.

The family will receive friends Thursday, August 20 at Cliffside Baptist Church from 12-1PM, with a service to follow at 1PM. A committal service will follow at Cliffside Cemetery.
