Be Your Best Self Day Camp Planned

Ava Garland, the 2026 Distinguished Young Woman of Rutherford County, will be hosting the Be Your Best Self Day Camp on January 3, 2026. The camp will take place at Dreamweavers Dance Studio located at 163 East Main Street in Forest City from 10am until 1pm.

This free event is open to girls in 1st-5th grade and is designed to inspire and empower them through dance, art, fitness, and friendship.

At the camp, participants will:

• Learn a fun dance that builds confidence and teamwork

• Create an art project to express their creativity

• Try out fitness activities that promote health and energy

• Enjoy a free lunch and make new friends

• Celebrate their strengths through connection and fun

The camp will be led by Ava and a team of current and former Distinguished Young Women participants who are eager to pour into these young girls and help them explore what it means to be bold, creative, active, and confident.
