Betty Roper, age 88

Betty Roper, age 88, passed away September 14, 2023.

Betty was born January 30, 1935 in Rutherford County to the late Robert Hyden Wright and Delores Kiser Wright. She worked for Louise Hawkins Daycare in Rutherfordton and was a homemaker. She was a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ralph Roper; brother, Gerald Wright, sisters, Martha Cash & Janette Wallace.

Those left to treasure her memory include her son, Randy Roper (Brenda) of Rutherfordton; sister, Sandra Brigman of Rutherfordton; brother, Norris Wright (Sherry) of Forest City; one grandson, two step grandchildren, five great grandchildren, four great great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held September 19 at Mountain Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Blanchette and Rev. Phillip Duncan officiating.
