Betty Tate Jolley, age 91

Betty Tate Jolley, age 91, of Charlotte and formerly of Morganton, NC, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023.

Betty was born March 24, 1932 in Rutherford County to the late Paul Tate, Sr. and Callie Morrow Tate. She was graduate of Blanton's Business School in Asheville and worked for Home Credit Company/Barclay's American for most of her working years. She was a past member of Sandy Mush Baptist Church and an active member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Bobby "Burl" Jolley and two sisters, Joyce Costner and Marilyn Betz.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Chris Jolley (Grace) of Matthews; brother, Paul Tate, Jr. (Blandine) of Lattimore; sister, Carol Roper (Charles) and one granddaughter.

A gathering to honor Betty's life was held July 8 at Harrelson Funeral Home.
