Betty W. Pruett, age 87

Betty W. Pruett, age 87, of Dobbinsville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, July 11, 2023.

Betty was born June 2, 1936 in Lockhart, SC to the late Matthew Hopper Wright and Gillie Jeanette Hamm Wright. She worked in textiles at the Burlington Plant and was a longtime member of High Shoal Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jamup" Pruett and her grandson, Matthew Pannell. She was also predeceased by a brother, William R. Wright and sisters, Annie Mae McCraw, Athaleen Snipes, Mabel Rudisell, Beulah Fisher, Irene Fowler and Wilma Smith.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Joni Pannell (Cos) of Dobbinsville and Jill Baker (Johnny) of Polk County; son, Jimmy Pruett (Donna) of Ellenboro; sister, Sadie Rabb of Spindale; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held July 14 at High Shoal Baptist Church with Rev. Shane Adkins and Rev. Eugene Passmore officiating.
