Black History Month program held at ICC

A Black History Month celebration was held at the end of February at Isothermal Community College, sponsored by the Student Government Association, National Society of Leadership and Success and the Uncommon Leaders Program. The celebration featured guest speaker Leon Godlock, a lieutenant with the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office, as well as a special dance presented by Pamela Bridges. Godlock spoke on wisdom imparted on him by his grandfather as well as the importance for the current generation to do their best. "When you go off to college, I want you to think about what's not here in Rutherford County," Godlock told students from REaCH (Rutherford Early College High School) who were in attendance. "And think of a way you can bring it here. I want to challenge you to do your best."
