Bobby D. Whisnant, age 83

Bobby D. Whisnant, age 83, of Forest City, went home to be with the Lord July 29, 2021.

Bobby was born May 22, 1938 in Rutherford County to the late Robert D. Whisnant and Beatrice Phillips Whisnant. Bobby served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force He worked in textiles for many years and for PPG Industries for 20 years before retirement. He was a member of Harriett Memorial Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wives, Betty Whisnant and Diane Whisnant; an infant son, Jeffery Whisnant and a sister, Lois Ward.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Mike Whisnant (Linda) and daughter, Libby Hames (Donald) all of Mooresboro; companion and friend, Elizabeth Patty; brother, Gerald Whisnant of Shelby; 4 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers-in-law, Bobby McEntire and Joey McEntire and sister-in-law, Julie Norman (David).

The funeral was conducted August 3, 2021 at Harriett Memorial Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Cash officiating.
