Bonnie Faye Simpson Polk, age 77

Bonnie Faye Simpson Polk, age 77, of Bostic, passed away, Wednesday, May 18, 2016.

A native of Russellville, Arkansas, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Simpson and Thelma Ratliff Simpson, a former physical education teacher in the Little Rock, Arkansas public schools, and former owner and operator of the Vintage BP Sports Supply in Florida and graduate of the University of Arkansas. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and adoring grandmother.

Survivors include her husband James "Jim" E. Polk, a daughter, Jamie Fox and her husband, Reverend Chris Fox of Forest City and two granddaughters.

Funeral services were held at the Shinn Funeral Home Chapel, with the Reverend Chris Fox officiating. Interment followed at the Rest Haven Cemetery, Russellville, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bethany Baptist Church, 760 Bethany Church Road, Forest City, NC 28043, or Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
