Calvin Padgett, age 91

Calvin Padgett, age 91, of Mooresboro, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2020.

Calvin was born March 12, 1929 in Rutherford County to the late Walter Padgett and Cordie Goforth Padgett. He served in the U.S. Army during the post-World War II era.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Padgett; son, Willie Padgett and a sister, Beatrice Lavender.

Those left to cherish his memory include two daughters, Cynthia Padgett of Spartanburg and Tammy Waters (Stanley) of Glendale, SC; son, Robert Padgett of Spartanburg; two brothers, Hubert Padgett (Frances) of Shelby and Norman Padgett (Freda) of Ellenboro; two sisters, Eloise Powell of Ellenboro and Dianne Hewitt of Forest City. He is also survived by five grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

In honor of Mr. Padgett's wishes, no formal services will be conducted.
