Carl G. Parker, 87

Carl G. Parker, 87, of Union Mills, passed away August 5, 2018.

A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Alfred E. and Ida Raye Hall Parker. He was a devoted Christian, husband, father, Pawpaw, father in law and friend. Carl was a member of Nealsville Church of God, serving as Sunday School Superintendent for over 40 years, and retired from Duke Power after 38 years of service.

Left to cherish Carl's memory is his wife, Emma Arrowood Parker; son, Gary Parker and wife Teresa of Union Mills; daughter, Gail Pressley and husband Jeff of Rutherfordton; three granddaughters; one grandson; one great grandson; and a special niece. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Parker and a grandson.

Funeral services were held at Nealsville Church of God. Rev. Travis Cooke, Rev. Doug Carpenter and Rev. Ned Pressley officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
