Carolyn McGinnis Harrill, age 88 of Forest City died Friday, March 6, 2026.

Carolyn was born December 12, 1937, in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late James Adam McGinnis and Jessie Henson McGinnis. She was the wife of the late Robert Marshall Harrill. They were married for 67 years and together, they were charter members of Liberty Baptist Church.

Carolyn obtained her high school diploma in 1975. She was a hard worker and worked in manufacturing until her retirement from Crellin Plastics.

She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Joe, who died in infancy, Kenneth McGinnis, and her sister, Catherine McGinnis Cooper.

Survivors include her sons, Tony Harrill and wife Pam of Mooresboro, Tim Harrill of Mooresboro, her daughters, Janet H. Blanton and husband Jack, Lisa H. Buchanan and husband Danny, and Lori H. Hall and husband Jerry all of Forest City, as well as grandchildren, Ashley Buchanan, Anna Buchanan, Tyler Harrill and wife Lacey, Caleb Blanton and wife Lindsey, Hannah Summerlin and husband Wes, Megan Hall, and Jennifer Wilkie and husband Caleb, and great-grandchildren Sawyer and Tucker Harrill, Calvin and Layla Blanton, Weslyn and Eli Marshall Summerlin, and Caroline Jane Wilkie, her sisters, Joyce Heavner, Judy Webb, and Rita Dodson.

The Funeral was held March 11 at Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Mack Tester and Rev. Owen Duncan officiating.
