Carolyn Payne Pruett, age 83

Carolyn Payne Pruett, age 83 of Forest City died April 29, 2022.

She was born October 24, 1938, in Greensboro. Carolyn was a daughter of the late Murray and Gene Perry Payne of Burlington.

She was a member of Concord Baptist Church in Bostic. Carolyn worked in the office of A&E Plastics for more than 21 years until retirement.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Joe Hugh Hopper, Sr, and John H. Pruett.

Survivors include sons, Edwin Murray Benfield and wife Anita of Rock Hill, SC, Craig Gene Benfield and wife Tina of Rutherfordton, three grandsons and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held May 3, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Frashier officiating.
