Charles "Doc" Wyatt, age 91

Charles "Doc" Wyatt, age 91, passed away November 11, 2021.

Doc was born December 4, 1929 in Caroleen, to the late Archie Wyatt and Lucy Hammett Wyatt. He was a graduate of Tri-High School, class of 1947. He served honorably in the US Navy during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Doc was an Honorary Retiree 2 Class Photographer. He retired at the Jacksonville Naval Air Station in 1969. He also worked as a supply clerk for Rutherford Hospital and Fieldcrest Mills and was a member of Caroleen United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Barbara L. Wyatt; his daughter, Barbara Ann Vickers; grandson, Matthew Wyatt; brothers, William Wyatt, Ray "Squeaky" Wyatt and Earl Wyatt.

Those left to cherish his memory include sons, Michael Wyatt (Francine) of Millville, Utah, and Mark Wyatt of Ellenboro; a son-in-law, Rodger Vickers; nine grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held December 2, 2021 at the Western Carolina Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain. Military honors were provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.

Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family.
