Charles Winfred Lancaster, age 75

Charles Winfred Lancaster, age 75 of Forest City died Saturday, November 4, 2023.

Charles was born in Rutherford County on December 21, 1947, and was a son of the late O.L. and Irene Mildred Waldrop Lancaster. He was a lifelong Baptist and worked in textiles. He worked for many years with Burlington Industries at the J. C. Cowan Plant and later at Reeves Brothers where he retired. Charles was a veteran having served his country in the US Army in Vietnam from 1968 until 1970.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Moore Lancaster as well as sisters, Brenda Price, and Betty Thompson.

Survivors include his son, Anthony Lancaster and wife Starr of Inman, SC, his brother, Wayne Lancaster of Yadkinville, and three grandchildren.

The funeral was held November 9, in the Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend Dan Durbin officiating. Military honors were accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
