Christine M. Jolley, age 83

Christine M. Jolley, age 83, of Cliffside, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2015.

Born September 14, 1932 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Gifton McCombs and Essie McCurry McCombs. Christine worked for Cone Mills-Cliffside Plant for many years before retirement. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Mooresboro and enjoyed travelling and especially taking care of her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-eight years, James White Jolley; infant brother and sister, G.C. and Mildred McCombs and sister, Lois Tessnear.

She is survived by one daughter, Janet Owens and husband, David of Cliffside; sister, Betty Hollifield of Mooresboro; two grandchildren; and a nephew.

Funeral services were conducted at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Mooresboro with Reverend Kevin Hamrick officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
