Clarence Carmel Honeycutt, age 97

Clarence Carmel Honeycutt, age 97 of Cliffside, NC passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023.

Carmel, as he was known to his family and friends was born April 12, 1925, in Avondale, and was a son of the late Angus Edgar Honeycutt and Ollie Moree Honeycutt.

As a veteran of World War II, he served his country honorably in the US Navy aboard the USS Robert E. Peary as a Petty Officer First Class. Carmel was a 1950 graduate of Appalachian Teachers College and he retired from Grover Industries. He was a Baptist.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Maryanne Honeycutt, his son, Harry Honeycutt and his step-son, Jesse Allen.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Bailey Honeycutt, stepson, Gerald Morris Bailey and wife Joyce, stepdaughter, Janice Bailey Salinero and husband Tony, all of Tallahassee, FL, three step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

A private funeral service was held for the family in The Padgett and King Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials may be made to Hospice of Carolina Foothills, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
