Clarence “Wormy” Ray, Jr, age 57

Clarence “Wormy” Ray, Jr, age 57, of Spindale, passed away Monday, September 15, 2014.

Born April 6, 1957 in Mecklenburg County, he was a son of the late Clarence G. Ray, Sr. & Barbara Ann Morrison Ray. He was a contractor for AT&T for over 35 years & recently worked for ANSCO of Spartanburg.  Clarence was a Baptist & enjoyed working; was an avid NASCAR fan & also enjoyed watching the Washington Redskins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lisa Ray & sister, Barbara Elaine Tedder.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Anita Ray of Spindale & Kasie Bremer & husband, David of Thomasville; son, Eric Ray & wife, Katrina of Gastonia; 3 granddaughters, Ashley Ray, Temperance Ray, Kylee Bremer & grandson, Kaden Bremer.  He is also survived by 1 sister, Katie Cooper; 7 brothers, Ned Blackwood, Robert “Rooster” Ray, Garland “Spider” Ray, Ricky McDonald, David McDonald, Dale Ray & Gene Ray.

Funeral services were conducted at Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Jerry Ruppe officiating. Interment followed in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
