Clifford Fields, age 76

Clifford Fields, age 76, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Tuesday, December 21, 2021.

He was the son of the late Robert Fields and the late Truly Anne Fields and a native of West Virginia. He was also preceded in death by his wife Janice Mynes Fields. Clifford attended Green Hill Baptist Church. He was a graduate of West Virginia State College and University of North Carolina Chapel Hill receiving a masters degree. Clifford was the District Health Director for Rutherford, Polk and McDowell health district for 30 years.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors.

He is survived by a daughter Wendy Lynn Wiseman and husband Michael of Taylorsville, sisters: Panola Lucas and Vangie Edwards, one grandson.

Interment and graveside service was held at Mount Vernon Cemetery, Hurricane, WV December 29, 2021.
