Colfax Free Fair, Ellenboro School Carnival next week

The Colfax Free Fair & Ellenboro School Carnival is set to begin on Wednesday, September 17 running through Saturday, September 20 at the old school grounds. The fair opens at 6pm on Wednesday and Friday at 5pm. Saturday kicks off at 1pm which is Armband Day from 1 to 5pm

The new Family Night Special is Wednesday night, also armband recognition.

There is no cost to attend the fair.

Rides, games, food and fun are all a part of the fair with the midway rides by B & K Carnival Company starting all rides on Wednesday evening.

The exhibit hall, food, games and vendors will begin operations on Tuesday night, Sept. 16.

Competitive exhibits entry day is Monday, September 15 from 10am to 6pm in the old gymnasium on the old school grounds.

Exhibits include canned goods: jams, jellies; horticulture: apples, potatoes, watermelons, pumpkins, gourds, tomatoes, onions, corn, etc; field crops; potted plans and cut ewers; art & photography with a special category, "Remembering Helene"; sewing, needlework, metalwork, woodwork, breads, cakes, cookies, etc.

Youth ages 5-15 may enter.

There will be live music on Saturday night from 5pm to 6:30pm featuring One Achord; Classic Car and Truck Show will be from 1 to 6pm on Saturday; plaques presented at 6pm Saturday and a Veterans Recognition at 6:15pm.

The old engines, tractors, farm machinery will be on display from 10am to 6pm.

The carnival/fair is a fundraiser for Ellenboro Elementary School.
