Mental Illness Support Group
Holland House is a not-for-profit consumer-run Drop-In Center for adults with mental illnesses. It is a place for adults to meet and talk with their peers, obtain community resource information, to hang-out when other services are not open and to be among people who share similar experiences. The Rutherford County Chapter of the NAACP will sponsor a Candidate Forum of the 2012 Candidate Election for Rutherford County. The forum will be held at the Old Dunbar Community Center, Hardin Road, Forest City. Sun. Oct. 7, 5pm. The public is invited to attend.

Extension Successful Gardener Program
Composting-participants will learn how to turn all those fall leaves and vegetable/fruit materials from the kitchen into ‘black gold’ for your landscape-compost. Cliffside Day 
Dr. C. Eugene Scruggs, president of The Scruggs Family Association, will be attending Sat. Oct. 13. The SFA is a nation wide genealogical society dedicated to: searching, recording and preserving the history & genealogy of the Scruggs Family in America. He will be located in the Masonic Lodge.
