Eat Well Live Well 
This 6-week series starts April 15 and meets each Monday through May 20. You’ll learn the latest research in nutrition – sodium, sugars, healthy fats, and “functional foods” – plus ways to reduce your risk for high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, cancer, stroke, high cholesterol and triglycerides. Session times: 2pm-4pm or 5:30pm-7:30pm. Cost $15 per person and includes all class materials. Classes held at Cooperative Extension, 193 Callahan Koon Road in Spindale. Bostic Lincoln Spring Festival
Sat. April 20, 10am with all-day, free entertainment. Dramas, musical entertainment, food and craft vendors, petting zoo, pony rides, student art show, bingo, heritage and train exhibits and “Little Detroit” cruise-in” car show. Bring family, friends and a comfortable chair. Info: 828-245-9800.

Domestic Violence Education/Support Group
Women who are victims of domestic abuse, or who never want to become victims, are invited to a free Domestic Violence Education/Support Group which meets 2 hours each week on Tuesdays.  Contact Dr. Johnnie Martin @828-286-9590 or Sally Claroni @ 828-245-1390, Ext. 104 for times and location.  Great information, interesting activities, and a caring, supportive environment.  
  
Fundraiser
3rd Annual Miles for Messiah 5K, Fun Run, and 40 Mile Bike Ride. Sat. April 13, at Pleasant View Community Church; 129 Michael Drive, Forest City. NEW THIS YEAR: Live Entertainment and Professional 5K Timing! Race day registration starts at 7am, 5K race starts at 8am, Bike Ride starts at 9am. Buffet Breakfast

Hands of Hope for Life 
20th Annual “Walk for Life” on Sat. April 20th, 9am. Registration 8am. 3 walk sites again this year. 1) Crestview Park, Rutherfordton, 2) Corinth Baptist Ch., Ellenboro, 3) Lake Lure Marina at gazebo. In case of bad weather meet Corinth Baptist Church as they have an indoor track. The walk is a 2-mile walk on a track. Support Group - 3rd Tuesday of Every Month
If you are caring for a loved one with a debilitating disease we offer resources, education & support. Come spend an hour & relax, learn & make friends with caregivers in the same situation.
