FUNC or Fridays Unplugged on Central

1st Friday of each month, 7pm. Sponsored by Rutherford Town Revitalization, the Town of Rutherfordton, Small Town Coffee and others! Families and music lovers alike are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and fill Central Street to support our local music scene.

Domestic Violence Education/Support Group

Washburn Community Outreach Center

Thrift Store will be having a sale on Kids clothing, June 4-6, 9am-2pm. All kids clothing will be buy 2 get 1 free! Come and stock up on summer clothing for your kids! All proceeds go towards our food pantry ministry! 2934 Piney Mountain Church Road in Bostic.

American Legion Post 423

Collecting needed items for Veterans during the month of June and will take to the VA Hospital in Asheville in July. Bring items to our post at 406 Boss Moore Rd., Caroleen or call 828-657-6145 for pickup. Patient needs: Shave cream, disposable razors, tooth paste & brushes, denture cleaner, bath soap, paper back books, puzzle books, white socks and stick deodorant. Rutherford County Humane Society Thrift Shop

Open Wed. thru Sat., 10am-4pm. New items arriving weekly! Proceeds benefit the Rutherford County Humane Society, a no-kill, non-profit 501(C)(3) animal rescue organization. A new Teen Domestic Violence Ed/Support Group will begin meeting w/Dr. Johnnie Martin, June 16 and then every Tues. of each month from 6-7:30pm. Females only! Hospice of Rutherford County

Benefit Ride

To send Jacob Brown to Hydro Camp, Sat. June 13, registration 10am, kick stands up 11am. Solo riders, $15. Double riders, $20. Each rider receives a hotdog plate after the ride! Non riders, $5. Jacob suffers from Hydrocephalus. Proceeds to help his family with travel expenses. Info, 828-447-2454.

Prostate Cancer Support Group

Celebrate Recovery

A recovery program based on principles from the 8 Beatitudes in Christ's Sermon on the Mount. It is where people can safely work together in helping those dealing with all types of hurts, hang-ups, or habits.
