Danny Gosey, age 73

Danny Gosey, age 73, of Forest City, NC, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012.

     Danny was born March 20, 1939 in Rutherford County, NC to the late J.C. Gosey and Myrtle Burgess Gosey.  He worked in textiles most his life which included Burlington Industries for 20 years.  He was a member of the Rutherford County Police Auxiliary and was one of the original volunteers at the Sandy Mush Fire Department. He was a member of Harmon Street Baptist Church.  Danny enjoyed carpentry and spending time with his family.  He will always be known as a giving person who always thought of others first.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Carson Lee Gosey.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Shirley W. Gosey; two daughters, Sheila Head and husband, Bobby of Ellenboro and Sharlene Stacy and husband, Gary of Mooresboro; five grandchildren, Carrie Stott, Katie Head, Cindy Stacy, Megan Stacy, Shelly Stacy and two great grandchildren, Brycen McSwain and Aiydan Brunson.

Funeral services were conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Wayne Toney, Reverend John Godfrey and Reverend David Jendry officiating.  Interment followed in Cleveland Memorial Park.
