David Duane Kruse, age 76, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023.
Born on December 19, 1946, David's life was a testament to courage, creativity, and selflessness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Virginia Kruse, as well as his wife, Shirley Kruse.
David graduated from Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, MI, and later from Rock Valley College in Rockford, IL. As a Sergeant in the US Air Force, he served his country with honor and dedication for a total of seven years, stationed across the nation.
He was a member of Venture Church in Dallas, NC.
David is survived by his brother, Paul Kruse, who is married to Rita Kruse, along with their extended family members.
David's greatest source of pride and joy were his children, Shannon Zittle (Scott Zittle) and Tamra Brinkmeier (Charley Brinkmeier), seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life was held July 19 at Venture Church, Dallas, NC. An additional Memorial Service took place at Leaf River Baptist Church in Leaf River, IL July 25.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
