David Landrum Atkins, age 81

David Landrum Atkins, age 81, passed away Friday, January 9, 2026.

Born in Rutherford County, NC David spent his working years as a fixer in the local textile industry.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Alice Marie Taylor Atkins; his parents, Claude and Alda Toms Atkins; siblings, Albert Atkins, Robert Atkins, and Doris Robinson.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Marsha White and husband Keith; one sister, Glennette Thompson and a number of other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to your local animal rescue organization or local animal shelter.

In keeping with his wishes no formal service will be held. He will be laid to rest in Eternal Hills Memorial Park, Forest City.
