David Williams, age 72, of Rutherfordton

David Williams, age 72, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Wednesday, October 7, 2026.

A native of Rutherford County, David was the son of the late J.T. Williams and the late Alice Humphries Williams. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Germany. Following his military service, he attended diesel truck repair school. Throughout his life, David found great joy in farming and caring for his cattle.

David is survived by his wife of 34 years, Linda Hardin Williams; two daughters, Amy Williams and Emily Kegley and husband, Joseph; his three granddaughters, Everly, Alice and Magnolia Kegley; and his sister, Janice Smith.

The Funeral was held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church on October 9 with Rev. Randy Darley and Rev. Josh Calvert officiating. Military Honors were provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
