
Deacon Andy Cilone received the Deacon of the Year Award for the State of North Carolina during a ceremony held on June 28 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Forest City. The award was announced by Grand Knight Joe Stenard of Knights of Columbus Council 12266.
The award recognizes Deacon Cilone's more than 40 years of dedicated service to the community, including his corporal works of mercy, prison ministry, and the generous sharing of his musical talents. As part of the recognition, Deacon Cilone was also presented with a beautifully embroidered dalmatic featuring the Knights of Columbus emblem in a cathedral-style brocade.
The award was presented by North Carolina State Deputy Sergio Miranda and North Carolina Life Director Tim Kelly.
