Dennis James, age 68

Dennis James, age 68, of Spindale, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2019.

Dennis was born December 2, 1951 in Giles County, Virginia to the late Henry James and Myrtle Sifford James. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Marines and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Dennis worked as a self-employed carpenter most of his life. He enjoyed repairing small engines and was an avid fisherman. Dennis had a lifelong passion for music and loved playing the guitar.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Clifford "Tip" James.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of twenty-five years, Robin James; three sons, Travis James (Alleya) of Spindale, Dennis "D.J." James, Jr. of Florida and Michael James of the Shiloh Community; two daughters, Nikki James of Spindale and Natasha Lyles of Duncan, SC; brother, Charles James of Hebron, Maryland; sister, Patricia James of Florida; brother-in-law, Randy Clark (Flotacia) of Spindale and a special nephew, Dalton Bryant of Spindale.

A graveside service was conducted at the Alexander Cemetery. Military honors were accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
