Detroy "Troy" Briscoe Dalton, Jr., age 79

Detroy "Troy" Briscoe Dalton, Jr., age 79, of Forest City, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

Troy was born April 29, 1943 in Caroleen to the late Detroy Briscoe Dalton, Sr. and Jewel Odom Dalton Pinson. Troy was a graduate of Cool Springs High School. He was drafted into the US Army in 1966 and served his country honorably the following year in Vietnam. Troy worked in textiles many years before opening Dalton's Used Cars.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Dennis Keith and grandparents Jesse and Willie Odom and Will and Minnie Dalton.

He is survived by his wife Brenda; son, Jeff (Angie) of Forest City; two grandsons, one step-granddaughter, brothers Davie (Jan) of Concord, Andy of Raleigh and sister, Kim of Hickory, along with a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held November 26 at Smith Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Terry White officiating.
