Dewey Botts

Dewey Botts also lovingly known by his family as "Poppy" passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2023.

Dewey was the son of Claude and Darcus Botts of Greenwood, SC.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Frances Stennett and his son-in-law, Jay Huntley.

Dewey is survived by his wife of 63 years, Frances Wease Botts, his son, Michael Botts and wife, Denise of Gaffney his daughter, Cathy Huntley of Wilmington, and sister, Norma Doolittle, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one nephew.

Dewey served in the US Air Force as a clerk for Airplane Dispatch.

Dewey was a plant manager for Peelers Rug Company and also ran a side business of his own making rugs.

Dewey was a member of Hicks Grove Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held February 19 at Hicks Grove Baptist Church with Reverends Raymond Byrd, Ad Hopper and Brian Cole officiating.
