Don Arthur Tessneer, 68

Don Arthur Tessneer, 68, of Lake Lure, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016.

A native of Rutherford County, he is the son of Arthur Amos and Verlan Dalton Tessneer. Don was a 1965 graduate of RS Central High School and was a graduate of Alverson-Draughton Business School. He retired from Tanner Companies after 42 years as a Senior Business Analyst. After retirement, Don loved spending time on his farm and restoring antique John Deere tractors. Don was also a member of Bill's Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Joyce Culbreth Tessneer, and son, Don "Donnie" Arthur Tessneer II. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Durham and Ina Tessneer and maternal grandparents, Ray and Rachel Dalton.

Funeral services were held at Bill's Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Terrell Dillingham, Rev. Gary Fairbanks and Mr. Billy Dalton officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bill's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1475 Bills Creek Road, Lake Lure, NC 28746.
