Donnie Ray Cody, 70, of Shelby

Donnie Ray Cody, (also known as 'Cuz" to those close to him) 70, of Shelby NC, entered into eternal rest January 1, 2026.

He was born May 29, 1955 to the late Charles Ray Cody and the late Carol Jean Caulder. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Benjamin Cody; sisters, Judy Chavis, Vickie Locklear and Sharon Cody.

He is survived by brother and caregiver, Danny Gene Cody, brothers, Charles Cody Jr. and Kenneth Cody and sisters, Connie Hunt, Freda Allen, Peggy Cody and Wanda Cody, and numerous cousins.

Donnie worked as a roofer for many years with his uncles in the Cody Roofing businesses.

Receiving of Friends was held January 10 at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, Shelby.
