Doreen Carver Hollifield, age 88

Doreen Carver Hollifield, age 88, of Forest City, passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2023.

Doreen was born July 3, 1935 in Rutherford County to the late Ralph Edward Carver and Arcenia Byers Carver. She was a graduate of Tri-High School, and a member of Caroleen United Methodist Church. Doreen worked as a teller/loan processor for the First Federal Savings and Loan and BB&T bank. She later worked for Hamrick, Bowen, Nanney and Dalton Law office.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of almost 70 years, Jerry Hollifield; daughter, Lynne Hollifield and siblings, Jack Price, Eual Price and Mary Alice Gaither.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Bill Hollifield (Kay) of Rutherfordton; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren .

The funeral service was held September 5 at the Caroleen United Methodist Church with Re. Roy T. Byers officiating.
