Dorothy Ann Thrift, age 86

Dorothy Ann Thrift, age 86, of Rutherfordton, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021.

Dorothy was born Sunday, December 30, 1934 in Rutherford County to the late Ralph and Morea Scruggs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, Willie Thrift; brother, Gene Scruggs and his wife, Francis; a granddaughter, and a son-in-law.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Joy Appleman of Mooresboro, Deborah Toney (Rick) of Rutherfordton, Jeff Thrift of Mooresboro and Sondra Tucker (Joey) of Chesnee. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel. Burial followed at Cliffside Cemetery.
