Dorothy "Dot" Buchanan, age 94

Dorothy "Dot" Buchanan, age 94, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away April 30, 2022.

She was the daughter of the late Jesse and Dora Owens, and she was a native of Spartanburg County, SC. Dot was a member of Southern Baptist Church. She attended Spartanburg High School and Queen's College. Dot and her husband started a rug company and worked there until retirement.

In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Earl "Dib" Buchanan, two children, Lynn, and Rusty Buchanan, and ten siblings.

She is survived by daughters, Joan Koone, and Kay Hammond (Buddy), sons, Joey Buchanan, and Lee Buchanan (Johna), eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held May 4 at Southern Baptist Church with Rev. Peter Surran officiating.
