Dorothy "Dot" Scott, 89

Dorothy "Dot" Scott, 89, of Spindale, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2022.

A native of Rutherford County, Dot was the daughter of the late Jake Horton and Charity Odessa Arrowood. Dot was a member of Southern Baptist Church. She was a retired seamstress working until the age of 80 doing what she loved which was alterations.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter Sharon Scott Owens; granddaughter Jessica Owens Mehta and husband Raj; one great grandchild on the way; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Scott, son in law Ronnie Owens, nephew Ronnie Taylor, sisters, Lois Taylor, Mildred Harris and brother, Doyle Arrowood.

Funeral services were held December 28 at Southern Baptist Church with Rev. Peter Surran officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southern Baptist Church, 140 Church St., Rutherfordton, NC 28139.
