Dorothy Lane, age 80

Dorothy Lane, age 80, of Rutherfordton, passed away November 27, 2021.

Dorothy was born August 30, 1941 in McDowell County, to the late James Arthur Baucom and Nonnie Vee Hollifield Baucom. She was a graduate of R-S Central High School. Dorothy was a longtime employee of Tanner/Doncaster. She was a talented musician, artist, and storyteller. She was a faithful member of the Rutherfordton Presbyterian Church.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 41 years, Thomas Reid Lane; daughters, Jane Cannon of Portland, Oregon, Karen Ligotino of Apex, Laura Wise of Bessemer City and son, Michael Lane of Rutherfordton; sisters, Gladys Patrick of Lenoir, Ruby Shehan of Marion, Annie Greene (David) of Nebo, Nancy Franklin (Steve) of Newland, Mary Ramsey of Marion and brother, Jim Baucom (Carolyn) of Spruce Pine, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Dorothy's life will be conducted on a later date.
