Dorthy Ruth Walker, age 80

Dorthy Ruth Walker, age 80, of Ellenboro, NC, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012.

Dorthy was born March 16, 1932 in Montmorency County, Michigan to the late Norman Buchler and Ida Wolter Buchler.  She worked as a waitress for many years and was a Lutheran.  She enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and cared for others. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Jack Walker; two brothers, Harold Buchler and Arthur Buchler.

Survivors include her two sons, Linwood Buchler of Alger, MI and Reverend Loran C. Walker and wife, Janice of Salisbury, NC; one daughter, Jackie W. Crawford and husband, Jeffrey also of Salisbury; two sisters, Violet Asbury of North Miami, FL and Geraldine Drewniak of Riverside, MI; three brothers, Howard Buchler of Hawks, MI, Norman Buchler, Jr. of Roger City, MI and Gordon Buchler of Hillman, MI.  She is also survived by six grandsons, one granddaughter, six great-grandsons and three great-granddaughters.

A graveside service was conducted at Eternal Hills Memorial Park with Reverend David Hawkins officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN   38105.
