Edith Mauney Lawing age 94 of Eastwood Village died Sunday, June 19, 2022.
Born April 18, 1928, in Cleveland County, NC she was the fourth of eight children of the late Charles Winslow Mauney and Fannie Belle Dedmon Mauney and was preceded in death by her three sisters and four brothers.
Edith had resided in the Forest City area since 1958 having worked for Southern Bell for over 25 years, was a member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.
She was also preceded by her husband of 58 years, Samuel L. "Sammy" Lawing, Jr. in 2016 and a grandson, Jonathan Lawing.
Surviving are her son, Eric Lawing and wife, Patti of Forest City, one granddaughter, and one great-granddaughter on the way.
Funeral services were held June 22 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Keys Pendleton officiating.
