Elaine Goodson Beaver, age 91

Elaine Goodson Beaver, age 91, passed away on Sunday October 21, 2012. 

Mrs. Beaver was born May 30, 1921 in Salisbury, NC to Reid and Evelyn Goodson. She graduated from Boyden High School and Salisbury Business College. On June24, 1942, she and William Ernest Beaver, Jr. were married. Mrs. Beaver was preceded in death by her husband, her sister, Jean Dorsett and her brothers, Reid Junior and Daniel (Sparky) Goodson.

Survivors include her daughter, Anne of Myrtle Beach, her daughter, Lee and husband, Ed Hullings of Charlotte, her son, Bill and wife, Freda of Asheboro, four grandchildren, Meredith (Doug) Dolson of Fort Belvoir, VA, Sally Trivette of Charlotte, Brent (Jill) Beaver of Raleigh, NC, Rebekah Beaver of Copenhagen, Denmark, two great-grandsons, Matthew and Noah Dolson, two sisters-in-law, Julia Goodson of Spencer and Johnsie Goodson of Augusta, GA and a number of nieces and nephews.

Retiring from the medical records department of Rutherford Hospital, Mrs. Beaver served many years in the hospital auxiliary. She joined Spindale United Methodist Church in 1953, serving in many capacities, specifically a 17-year term as church treasurer. She was honored with a life membership in the United Methodist Women. 

Funeral services were held in the Spindale UMC church sanctuary with the Rev. Bruce Jones and Rev. Joe Faulk officiating. Burial followed at Eternal Hills Memorial Park. 

Memorials may be made to the Spindale United Methodist Church Building Fund or the American Red Cross.
