Eugene Robert Smith, age 64

Eugene Robert Smith, age 64, of Rutherfordton celebrated his birthday by going home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, July 12, 2013. 

He was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He became a resident of Rutherford County 15 years ago.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Roseanne of 42 years, three sons, two daughters and grandchildren. 

A Celebration of Eugene’s life and legacy was held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Crowe’s Mortuary with Pastor John Orr officiating . 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043 or to the American Cancer Society.

Crowe’s Mortuary is serving the family.
